A safe space where young people in Darebin can access services, programs and support.

 The Hub @ Northland is a vibrant centre offering programs and services to young people (10 -25 years) who live, work, study or play in the City of Darebin.

The Hub is now open for limited hours with a range of protective measures in place due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.  The hours are:

Thursday 12 – 5pm

Decibels Youth Music Centre is Darebin’s youth music and arts hub, based upstairs at the Reservoir Community and Learning Centre.

Decibels is closed at the moment due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, but you can still connect with the Decibels community and staff by;

  • Following our Facebook and Instagram for live tutorials, workshops, performances and other content

  • Booking a one-on-one session via video chat to work on beats, get a music lesson or help mixing a track

  • Apply for a music industry mentorship and intensive support with a creative project via our Decibels Indie program

 

Our programs:

We offer a variety of music, art and technology workshops for all skill levels:

  • ReZonate: Electronic and hip-hop based music tutorials and workshops, online on Thursday nights
  • Decibels Indie: Decibels Indie is an inclusive dynamic space which supports young emerging artists to develop the networks and connections needed to become independent artists.
  • Darebin FReeZA (dB Productions): Learn how to plan and run live music and other cultural events.
  • Turn Up: A space for young women, gender diverse, trans and non-binary youth to connect while learning how to make music, with online music tutorials and workshops on Monday nights.

The Outreach & Community Team provide programs, services and support in parks and public space around Darebin.


 

The team facilitate informal sports games with young people, coach those interested in skateboarding and BMX and offer a broad range of sporting equipment that community can use.  

All programs are free and open to all abilities. Activities are determined by young people on the day and families are welcome to attend.

Outreach programs, projects and events are not currently running at the moment due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, but you can still connect with the community and staff by;

  • Following our Facebook and Instagram for links to live tutorials, workshops and performances from Darebin Youth Services and other content.
  • Participating in online consultations through Facebook and Instagram for a variety of different topics such as increasing and supporting diversity in public spaces, arts projects and local municipal developments.
  • Getting in contact with the team through Facebook and Instagram for information on what’s available, support and service referrals or via one of the methods listed below.
