Presented by Darebin Council in partnership with the Darebin Ethnic Communities Council (DECC), The Backyard Harvest Festival has inspired home gardeners since it first began in 2011.
Want to learn about growing fruit and vegetables at home from local experts?
Pick up a wealth of gardening tips and techniques at the 22 open garden tours and workshops on offer!
Gardening workshops include fruit tree grafting keeping quails and chooks and water efficient gardens.
The festival is on between Saturday 18 - Sunday 26 November 2017 on weekends and early evenings during the week.
A detailed program and ticketing can be found at: www.darebin.vic.gov.au/backyardharvest.
The festival is built on the generosity of our talented home gardeners who not only open their garden for tours, but also hold workshops on a wide range of topics such as keeping chickens and quails, water efficient gardens, grafting fruit trees, and aquaponics. The festival helps build a strong sense of community around homegrown and homemade food.
