| MEDIA RELEASE, 28 October 2009
An energetic line up of stand out performers are set to take to the stage for Unmask a Cure for MS, the Darebin Mayoral Ball, on Friday 20 November 2009.
“We have confirmed a wonderful line up of musicians and entertainers for the night,” said Darebin Acting Mayor, Cr Tim Laurence.
“Setting the tone for the evening will be MC, Mark Mitchell (Con the Fruiterer) who will get the event off to a rollicking start with his wit and warm personality.”
“We will be graced with a performance by singer songwriter, Janette Geri who is known on both sides of the globe for her energetic performance and beautiful voice.” “Janette’s singing will undoubtedly capture the audience and her guitar work will have listeners transfixed.”
“We will also be treated to a performance by a young, talented Melbourne soprano to keep your eye on, Justine Anderson.”
“Changing the pace of proceedings, 8-piece cover band, Alchemy will be sure to get everyone up out of their seats with a song list that traverses 60s soul, 70s disco and rock’n’roll from 70s and 80s.”
“A bit of glamour will be injected into the evening with a fashion parade by local fashion label, Mazi who will also award a $1,000 wardrobe prize for ‘best dressed’ on the night.”
“All proceeds from the event will be donated to Monash Immunology and Stem Cell Laboratories (MISCL), for work in treating and finding a cure for MS,” said Cr Laurence.
