Bundoora Park

Bundoora Park is Darebin’s premier park, attracting visitors from areas extending well beyond the municipality.

Bundoora Park is a nature park surrounding Mount Cooper, the highest point in Metropolitan Melbourne.

Attractions include an 18 hole public golf course, free barbecues, children’s playgrounds, wetlands, native woodland areas. Feed and cuddle farm animals at the Cooper’s Settlement theme park, enjoy a hay ride, explore pioneer craft skills at the Heritage Village or enjoy a country style meal in the café at the Visitors Centre.

Visitors may like to drive up the hill to Mount Cooper estate to experience the Melbourne views or visit the historic Bundoora Homestead. Bundoora Homestead is a magnificent federation style mansion built in 1899, and is registered by Heritage Victoria and certified by the National Trust. The Homestead includes an Art Centre and cafe'.

The Master Plan locates the Bundoora Park Precinct in the context of planning for future infrastructure, activities and experiences with the growing demands of a diverse urban population, and is currently in the final stages of revision.

The Visitor Centre car park is sealed and has two allocated disabled parking bays. Paths throughout the settlement are mainly gravel. Disabled facilities are also available. Four sets of toilets are available in the farm and in the Heritage Village area, one toilet at the visitor centre located in the Education Centre building and two in the Heritage Village, all with accessible toilets.

Bundoora Park plays an important role in Darebin's diverse open space system. Bundoora Park has one of the largest remnant Red Gum Grassy Woodlands in the Melbourne metropolitan area. The woodland has received 8 years of planned management until 2006 from the City of Darebin, the Department of Justice community work program, Melbourne Water, Conservation Volunteers Australia and many other community volunteers.

Ensure dogs are on-lead within 5 metres of shared paths
Dogs must be on-lead when approaching the off-lead area, including any carparks
Consider other park users and ensure that dogs are kept under effective control
Restrain your dog if asked and do not allow it to become a nuisance to others
Dogs may access the creek if in an off-lead area
Minimise any disturbance to creek banks and creatures who live there.
