Funding was received from the Federal Government Community Infrastructure Fund which was allocated by Council to improving Darebin’s Parks in 2009. Whitby Reserve was one project to benefit from this funding which was used to upgrade the park.
The new design incorporates a lawn area, garden beds and a new children's playground. Sensory planting, new access paths, furniture and signage are also part of the valuable improvements to this park.
