Exploring the Solar System, Columbian and Chinese cooking classes, yoga and reiki are just some of the events coming up at the Darebin Intercultural Centre over the coming month. These events are designed for a diverse range of people so they can meet, interact, have fun, learn and grow in a safe and respectful environment.
Tuesdays and Thursdays in August, 6.30pm (Tues) 7.30pm (Thurs)
Yoga
$140 for a 10 week course or $15 per class for casual attendance (cash only)
Classes will be taught by Christine Cook. Wear loose comfortable clothes and bring your own yoga mat or large towel.
Sunday 5, 12 and 19 August, 10.30am – 12.30pm
Siouxie Solar’s Space School
$15 per class
Designed for children between the ages of 6 and 12, these events explore the nine planets of the Solar System from scientific, social-emotional and creative points of view. More information available at www.siouxiesolar.com
Monday 6 August, 6pm
Chinese Home-style Cooking with master chef Helen
$15
Helen is an experienced chef and will be preparing healthy Chinese cuisine.
Sunday 19 August, 1pm – 3pm
World Humanitarian Day – forum and exhibition
Free
This forum aims to raise awareness in the Darebin community about what is happening in developing countries, and will feature three guest speakers including a representative from Oxfam.
Monday 20 August, 6pm
Columbian Home-style Cooking with master chef Claudia
$15
Come along and learn how to cook this tasty cuisine, rich with unique flavours.
