The City of Darebin today congratulated the new Darebin Council elect after the Victorian Electoral Commission officially notified candidates of their success.
City of Darebin Acting Chief Executive Daniel Freer said that election to the Council is just the beginning of a new four-year commitment to the Darebin community.
“On behalf of the organisation I congratulate all of the successful Councillors and welcome our four new councillors to Council” Mr Freer said.
“The newly elected Council will begin work on developing our next four-year Council plan to build on Darebin’s strengths and maintain its appeal as an outstanding location to live, work, visit and run a business. The organisation looks forward to supporting the Councillors to achieve their goals.”
The Councillors will attend their first public Council (Statutory) meeting on 12 November where the Mayor will be elected and they will nominate to be members on the various City of Darebin Standing Committees and Community Advisory Committees.
The public is invited to attend the Council (Statutory) meeting and meet with the new Council on:
