Sustainable Homes helps residents take action to make their homes, workplaces and communities more sustainable.

Participants take part in workshops, complete self audits and commitments, and receive free Sustainability Starter Kits.

Residents of the City of Darebin, Banyule City Council and the City of Whittlesea can register and choose how they would like to participate in the program.

Visit the Sustainable Homes Website for more details.

Workshops
The workshops give participants the tools and confidence to make a change at home or work. Changes can be as small as installing an energy efficient light globe or a large as finding a suitable water tank for your home.

The topics covered in the workshops are energy, water, reducing waste, travel and sustainable gardening.

Sustainability Kits
Participants who do a self audit after attending a workshop receive a free Sustainability Kit (while stocks last).

The Sustainability Kits include a range of simple, easy to use products. All products work to help the environment and in many cases will save money on energy and water bills.

Case Studies
Many residents in Darebin, Banyule and Whittlesea are starting to build, retrofit and renovate their homes to be more sustainable. We provide several case studies of how residents are moving towards a more sustainable future.
