How to lodge a Certificate of Compliance

You can lodge your Certificate of Compliance online here via our eServices portal.

A fee of $20.70 will apply to lodge the certificate.

How to obtain a Certificate of Compliance?

A certificate of pool and spa barrier compliance certifies that a pool or spa safety barrier complies with the applicable barrier standard. To obtain a certificate of pool and spa barrier compliance you will need to engage a registered Building Surveyor/Building Inspector to inspect your swimming pool/spa safety barrier.

When do I have to lodge the Compliance Certificate?

The due date for lodging your certificate of compliance depends on the age/construction date of your pool/spa safety barrier.

Date Compliance Certificate must be lodged

On or before 30 June 1994 1 June 2022
From 1 July 1994 until 30 April 2010 1 June 2023
From 1 May 2010 until 31 October 2020 1 June 2024
 After 1 November 2020   Within 30 days of the occupancy permit/certificate of final inspection


Please Note:  Compliance Certificates are only valid for 30 days from the date of issue, so once you have received your compliance certificate, please lodge it with council as soon as possible to avoid another inspection. 

You are required to lodge a certificate of compliance every 4 years.
