Interim overlay for Thornbury Park Estate - Amendment C197dare

Information about the proposed interim heritage overlay (Amendment C197dare) for Thornbury Park Estate.

Increasing development pressure in Thornbury Park Estate has put the heritage significance of the precinct at risk of being eroded over the next 12 to 18 months, while plans for permanent heritage controls are underway (Amendment C191dare).

We've asked the Minister for Planning to apply an interim heritage overlay to properties of ‘contributory’ and ‘significant’ heritage value, including the church manse. The aim is to ensure the protection of the heritage fabric while the planning scheme amendment process (for a permanent heritage overlay) is underway.
