Charter of Aged Care Rights

Consumers receiving Australian Government funded aged care services have the right to be properly looked after, treated well and given high quality care and services.

Your rights are protected by the Charter of Aged Care Rights.

The Charter of Rights includes a list of rights that all consumers of any Government subsidised Aged care service can expect.

The Aged Care Quality Commission website has resources for you to learn about the Charter of Aged Care rights in your own language.

Quality Standards

The Australian Government Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (Commission) expects organisations providing aged care services in Australia to comply with the Quality Standards.
