Explore opportunities to get involved, get creative, promote your business and festive events over the holiday season

Festive Window Program

Council are looking for a selection of local artists to transform preselected vacant shop window fronts this festive season. Using quick to apply, and easy to remove materials, we’re looking for bold, colourful, inclusive and festive designs to celebrate our Darebin area and community.

Each commission will be costed between $500 and $1,000, depending on the size of the allocated window/s. Allocations will be at the discretion of the Program Manager only. Final artwork to be installed between late November to early December 2022 and will be removed by Council in early January 2023.

Selection criteria:

1. Artist lives, works or studies in Darebin;
2. Indicates an understanding of the brief; and
3. Design concept and final artwork generates interest, celebrates the festive season and our inclusive Darebin area and community.

Submissions close on Tuesday 25 October 2022.

Darebin Festive Season Events Calendar

Are you a business, venue, organisation, school and/or community group holding a December Festive Season Event in Darebin? As part of the Darebin City Council Festive Season program, we are looking for events and programs that encourage the community to spend local and celebrate our diverse municipality.

Selection criteria includes that the Event and/Program, must be:

1. Run between late November 2022 to late December 2023;
2. Organised and run by one or more Darebin businesses, organisations, schools and/or community groups;
3. Held in any suburb in Darebin;
4. Encourage the Darebin community to spend local and/or celebrate our diverse municipality.
