Waste collections are not impacted by Australian Services Union industrial action at this time, allowing Council services to return to normal. If customers have any missed collections, these should be reported to Customer Service (Phone: 03 8470 8888). Council will keep the community informed if this changes.

The Places of Worship – Planning Scheme Amendment C222dare is now open to feedback from the community.
The Planning Scheme Amendment C222dare is about protecting places of local heritage value. The Amendment proposes to apply a Heritage Overlay to protect seven places of worship significant to Darebin.
The Heritage Overlay is a planning control that ensures new development is sensitive to a place’s identified heritage significance. This does not mean development is prohibited, rather it allows consideration of potential heritage impacts through a planning permit process.
Groups and community members who may be impacted or interested in this engagement are encouraged to lodge a formal submission to the planning scheme amendment so we can consider it as we plan next steps.
Submissions on the proposed Amendment C222dare will be accepted until 30 April 2026.
