The Australian Services Union (ASU) has notified Darebin City Council and the other seven councils joined in multi-employer bargaining that they plan to take strike action on Tuesday 5 May. Some council services may be affected by the ASU’s strike. We will keep you informed as much as possible.
The 2026 Business Skills Workshop series, hosted jointly by Darebin and Merri-bek councils, are free workshops led by local industry experts. The workshops provide business owners with practical insights, that can help you to stay ahead of trends and allow you to make smarter decisions for your business.
Please note: These workshops are available only for businesses based in the Darebin and Merri-bek council areas. All workshops are free.

The current series has been successful and well received by local businesses. Due to success and ongoing demand, the program will continue and expand from July 2026 through May 2027.
We invite business experts and industry leaders from local businesses to submit proposals, to present and facilitate one or more, hands‑on workshops as part of the program's expansion.
