Get Active in Darebin Program - Autumn 2023
Get Active in Darebin is a free community-based exercise program aimed at increasing the physical activity and wellbeing levels of Darebin residents, as well as engaging under-represented groups into physical activity.
Most activities are catered for people of all ages, abilities and fitness levels, and facilitated by qualified instructors and coaches. Many programs include family friendly classes specifically designed for parents and children to enjoy exercise together.
Booking is required for Pickleball, Light Volleyball, Table Tennis, Social Badminton, Tennis for Mums, Get into Golf, Boxing, Soccer, Line Dancing and Bootcamp.
Bring your own water, towels and a mat (if required) and join in on the fun.

Get into Pickleball
Starts: 17 April 2023 and runs for 6 weeks

It’s not tennis and it’s not badminton! Did you know that pickleball is one of the world’s fastest growing team sports and is a combination of tennis, badminton and table tennis, played on a smaller sized court. A fun-filled and challenging social game – it’s a game for the young and the young at heart. Come and see what all the fuss is about!
Get into Boxing
Starts: 18 April 2023 and runs 6 weeks
Tuesdays: 3.30pm—4.30pm

Go old school to get active by joining the 6-week Boxing program delivered by Keon Park Boxing Gym based at the Reservoir Leisure Centre. The program is open for people of all ages and great way to improve your physical and mental wellbeing.
Bootcamp
Starts: 18 April 2023 and runs 6 weeks
Tuesdays: 6:30am—7:15am
Address: Bundoora Park Public Golf Course – Practice Facilities (undercover)
Get the endorphins flowing and join for a group fitness circuit before work on a Tuesday morning at Bundoora Park Public Golf Course. The circuit is catered to all fitness levels and abilities and every exercise is modifiable. Set-up on the undercover Practice Facilities, you can train rain, hail, or shine.
Get into Golf
Starts: 19 April and runs 6 weeks
Wednesdays: 10am—11am

Come down to Bundoora Park to have a swing and get involved in golf sessions held by a fully qualified professional. Conducted in a safe, fun and inclusive environment, sessions are free for all participants and are open to anyone in Darebin. If you've thought about giving Golf a go - then get into Golf this Autumn.
Get into Soccer
Starts: 19 April and runs 6 weeks

Ignite your love for soccer in a welcoming and Inclusive environment by joining the free 6 weeks program delivered by Keon Park Soccer Club. This fun and engaging program is open for kids under 14 with all skill levels. Program will include skill building drills, fun games and mini matches. Join the program and give soccer a go!
Yoga
Starts: 20 April and runs 6 weeks

Roll out your yoga mat and discover the combination of physical and mental exercises that for thousands of years have benefitted yoga practitioners. Whether you are young or old, yoga has the power to calm the mind and strengthen the body.
Pilates
Starts: 20 April and runs 6 weeks
Thursday: 9.30am—10.30am

Pilates is a form of exercise which concentrates on strengthening the body with an emphasis on core strength. This helps to improve general fitness and overall well-being. Like Yoga, Pilates concentrates on posture, balance and flexibility
Get into Light Volleyball
Starts: 20 April and runs for 6 weeks

Light Volley is a group activity where you can learn how to play modified volleyball with friends. Light Volley will provide a fun alternative to doing exercise on your own, pairing physical activity with volleyball related skills and games that will get you moving, active and meeting new people.
Get into Line Dancing
Starts: 20 April and runs for 6 weeks
Thursdays: 1pm—2pm

A line dancing is a choreographed dance in which a group of people dance along to a repeating sequence of steps while arranged in one or more lines or rows. Join this entertaining 6-week program run by Cranross Tennis Club to stay active in a fun way this Autumn.

Get into Rezfit
Starts: 20 April and runs for 6 weeks

Thursdays: 2pm—2.30pm
Rezfit is a small group session filled with functional training movements incorporating TRX, battle ropes, sleds and kettlebells. A great way to learn new exercises. Suitable for anyone aged 16 years and over.
Wheelchair Dance and Roll
Starts: 20 April and runs for 6 weeks
Thursdays: 6pm—7pm

Wheelchair Dance & Roll encourage people with physical disabilities to keep active through dance”. Delivered by Dance & Roll Club, this program will provide people with physical disabilities and wheelchair users an entertaining way to be active.

Tai Chi in the Park

Tailored for busy mums who want to make time for themselves and prioritize their health and wellbeing. Join us for a fun and energizing tennis lesson that includes skills coaching and fitness drills, all tailored to your skill and fitness levels.

Get into Social Badminton

Whether you’re a regular player or a first timer, come on down to Darebin Community Sports Stadium for a social hit on a Friday morning. With all equipment provided and the courts ready to go, you will have lots of fun practicing your strokes and meeting new friends. Places are limited and registrations are compulsory.
Multicultural Footy 4 Fun
Starts: 21 April 2023 and runs for 6 weeks

Experience Australia’s most loved sport through AFL Victoria’s Multicultural Footy 4 Fun event, for kids aged 5-12 years from diverse backgrounds that, focuses on providing a safe and inclusive introduction to football.
Rainbow Gym
Starts: 22 April and runs for 6 weeks

Rainbow Gym is an opportunity for trans and gender diverse and Non-Binary (TGNB) young people aged 16 – 25 to learn correct information and support to achieve health and wellbeing goals in a gym environment. The program will be held in a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment.
Get into Table Tennis
Starts: 22 April and runs for 6 weeks

Be one of the first to give Table Tennis a go at Narrandjeri Stadium. The competitive game is regaining popularity, and we want you to get involved with some social fun on a Saturday afternoon. All equipment provided, just bring yourself, your friends and your A-game. No experience needed.
Parkrun

Walking and running
It's important to try to exercise for at least 30 minutes per day, so why not try walking around local Darebin Parks and streets. Get your free Heart Foundation Personal Walking Plan and get moving today.
Find a walking group near you, visit the Heart Foundation website for more information to search via suburb for your closest groups to join.
For those up for more of a jog or run, why not try parkrun. A free and social community event coordinated by volunteers where you can walk, jog or run 5 kilometers. parkrun is held each Saturday at CT Barling Reserve (Plenty Rd) in Reservoir from 8—9am. Find out more about parkrun and register.
Reduced gym membership
