Community engagement and participation in decision making and informing Council is critical. Find out the different ways we engage with our community.

Community engagement and participation

We consider engagement with you, our community, very important.

We provide a range of engagement and participation opportunities. Through these, you can support us in decision-making and information sharing.

Community members can participate in various ways, including:

  • being part of issue-based specific working groups advising on different projects, and
  • providing feedback to projects listed on the Your Say Darebin website.

Darebin Disability Action Plan 2027-2030

Council is developing a new Disability Action Plan 2027-2030.

This plan helps Darebin City Council make our services, events and facilities more inclusive. It helps us meet the needs of people with a disability.

The current Disability Access and Inclusion in Darebin Plan(PDF, 2MB) has been extended until June 2027 while we develop the new Disability Action Plan. 

Be part of a Disability Reference Group

We would like to invite people with a disability in our community to make this plan with us and be part of a Disability Reference Group. We want to create a very inclusive plan and plan to do this work from July 2026 to June 2027.
