The Darebin local services directory is a list of local services that support young people. You can contact them directly if you know what kind of service you need.

You can also contact us if you would like to speak with a Darebin youth worker. You can talk to us about anything that’s going on with you. We can give you information and make referrals to education, employment, housing, legal and other services.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services

Victorian Aboriginal Health Service

The Victorian Aboriginal Health Service (VAHS) provides a variety of services, including medical and dental clinics, counselling and community programs.

VAHS Fitzroy and Epping are open and available to help. The Preston clinic is currently closed but family counselling services are available over the phone and through video consults. Please call 03 9403 3300 or visit the VAHS website for more details.

Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency

The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is the lead Aboriginal child and family welfare organisation in Victoria. It protects and promote the rights of Aboriginal children and young people.

Bert Williams Aboriginal Youth Services

The Bert Williams Aboriginal Youth Services (BWAYS) is managed by the Victorian Aboriginal Community Services Association Limited (VACSAL). They provide crisis accommodation, a justice program and an early school leavers program.

Centre for Multicultural Youth

Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation that supports young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds.

Changes to service: Drop-in access is no longer available at CMY offices, but staff are still available. CMY encourages clients and those looking for support to contact a case worker by phone, email, social media, or by visiting a CMY office.

Multicultural Youth Advocacy Network (Australia)

MYAN, or Multicultural Youth Advocacy Network (Australia) promotes the rights of young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds, to ensure they're recognised in policy and practice. They work with young people, government and civil society to achieve this goal.

The Inner Northern LLEN provides services and referrals to help young people move from education to employment.

Prace: Reconnect

Prace: Reconnect gives one-on-one support to help young people plan a return to education. It helps them get the skills to pursue meaningful employment in their chosen career.

Switchboard Victoria

Switchboard Victoria offers peer-driven support services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and gender divers, intersex, queer and asexual (LGBTIQA+) people, and their families, allies and communities.

Switchboard counsellors are available from 3pm to midnight everyday on 1800 184 527 or on Qlife Webchat.
