Beyond Age is a creative storytelling and portrait project, celebrating life experience, reflection and resilience.
In partnership with Seniors Rights Victoria, Darebin City Council brought together 27 people aged over 50 who live, work or spend time in Darebin.
Each participant attended a workshop where they shared a photo from their younger years and took part in a professional portrait session of them at their current age.
During the workshop, participants also answered the question "What would you tell your younger self about getting older?".
The photographs and responses of each individual created storyboards of their life and together created the Beyond Age Exhibition.
The Beyond Age Exhibition will be available to view in-person at the Northcote Library, LibArt Gallery from 3–28 September 2026.
