Darebin's new rainbow footpath

Council is installing a rainbow footpath in Preston as a symbol of celebration, inclusion and support of the LGBTIQA+ community.

The footpath represents our commitment to strengthening LGBTIQA+ visibility, voice and representation. 

The installation of the rainbow footpath follows the launch of Darebin’s LGBTIQA+ Action Plan in May, and takes cues from the Plan’s goals, strategies and initiatives.

The footpath will likely be completed in October 2026.
