The Hub @ Northland

The Hub @ Northland is a vibrant centre running free programs and services for young people aged 12 to 25 who have a connection to Darebin.

What young people can do at The Hub

  • Get job support and check out the local jobs board
  • Access support services like legal aid, housing and health support
  • Use the entry-level music studio
  • Play free games including pool, foosball, and latest gaming consoles
  • Use the computers, kitchen and chill-out space
  • Get involved in programs and meet other like-minded young people

Facilities and equipment

At The Hub, there are range of activities, games, books and equipment on offer for young people who engage with our onsite programs. These include:

  • An entry level music studio
  • Mac computer
  • Basic audio equipment
  • Music instruments including guitars, djembe and a stand-up piano
  • Photography equipment (green screen and cameras)
  • Free wifi
  • Five desktop computers with internet connection
  • DJ mixing desk
  • Latest gaming consoles
  • Projector and screen
  • Pool table
  • Foosball table
  • Chess set, puzzles, board games and playing cards
  • Modular furniture
  • Arcade machine
  • A range of books
  • Craft area
  • Espresso machine
  • Tea and coffee making facilities
  • Basic cooking facilities.

External support services

We have a number of partnering organisations who work out of The Hub, such as employment support services, community health providers and legal services. This means that young people can access more specialised assistance when they need it. Contact The Hub below to find out about our current external support services.

 Friday Melbourne Polytechnic Jobs and Skills- VELCI  Melbourne Polytechnic's Skills and Jobs Centre and aims to support young people who have formally exited school with an exemption or are enrolled in TAFE or non-school providers or are employed.

Compulsory school age early school leavers formally exempted from school

Opening hours

The Hub is open 2.30pm - 5.30pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

The Hub runs weekly programs during school terms. These will be promoted onsite at The Hub and on the Darebin Youth Services social media pages.
