About the Darebin Economic Futures Network

The Darebin Economic Futures Network emerged as the top request from local businesses during extensive consultation for the Darebin Economic Framework. This initiative is a direct response to the community's request for a dedicated platform to connect and grow. The network was launched in November 2025 and built on the principle that strong business communities lead to a more resilient local economy. By providing opportunities for business owners to build valuable relationships, share knowledge, and access expert insights, the Darebin Economic Futures Network empowers businesses to thrive and innovate together.

About Stray Neighbour

Once a humble 600-square meter panel beaters workshop, Stray Neighbour is now a go-to bar and eatery in Preston. It was founded by three local friends who transformed the space into a venue that they themselves would want to visit - a place where you can enjoy great food and local drinks in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Current owner Samuel Mugg was head chef for three years.
