Join us for a unique guided experience, to learn about the historic Bundoora Homestead Art Centre, and the land on which it was built. Hear that stories that shaped this iconic mansion, from its first era as a private family home and stables, to its rebirth as a repatriation mental health hospital for returned servicemen, and its final reimagining as a community art gallery. 

Topics you will learn about on the tour:

  • Indigenous custodianship of Country
  • The commissioning and origins of the house as the Smith family home
  • Unique architectural features of the Queen Anne style mansion
  • The transformation of the Homestead into a convalescent farm and repatriation hospital
  • The discovery of an internationally significant medical treatment
  • Bundoora Homestead’s present day use as an arts and cultural facility

Following the tour, we invite you to join us for Devonshire tea in our onsite café, or stay on to explore our beautiful heritage gardens.

$10 tour only

$20 tour + Devonshire Tea (A pot of tea, two scones, jam & cream).

  • Disabled parking available (2 spaces); entry via ramp at main entrance
  • Free car parking available (40 spaces) via onsite car park
  • Bike parking also available
  • Tram route 86, stop number 63 (Greenwood Drive) + approx 6 min (550m) walk. This tram stop is accessible.

Please note we are a cash-free venue.

Please note for a refund of ticket to be considered we require at a minimum 48 hours notice.

Join us in the Café!

Our Café is open, offering a variety of light refreshments including pastries, soup, scones, cakes and coffee. It is open from 11am-3pm and the perfect place to grab a bite after your class.
