Future Preston Central

Information about the proposed structure plan and planning controls (Amendment C218dare) for Preston Central Major Activity Centre.

The current structure plan for the Preston Central Major Activity Centre is over 16 years old and in need of a comprehensive review.

A refreshed structure plan has been developed following two phases of community consultation. It outlines the vision and strategic framework for the Centre's growth and development over the next 15 to 20 years.

On December 18, 2023, the Council adopted the "Draft Preston Central Structure Plan" and resolved to request the Minister for Planning's authorisation to prepare and exhibit Amendment c218dare to the Darebin Planning Scheme. The proposed amendment will implement new planning controls to give effect to parts of the structure plan.
