Access and inclusion at RLC

We are committed to making Reservoir Leisure Centre a welcoming, accessible and inclusive place for everyone.

We've put together some FAQs to help you plan your visit.

Entrance and parking

Is there accessible parking?

Yes. Accessible parking spaces are located close to the main entrance.

Are entrances and pathways accessible?

Yes. There is step-free access throughout the facility.

Change rooms

Where are your change rooms located?

We have change rooms on both the gym side and the aquatic side of the centre.

What facilities are in the gym-side change rooms?

Women’s change rooms

Men’s change rooms

All-gender change rooms

Our family change rooms and accessible change rooms (listed below) are all-gender friendly.

Family change rooms (3 rooms)

Single, lockable rooms for individuals or families of any gender. Each room includes a shower, basin and changing space.

Accessible change rooms (1–4 rooms)

We have four single, lockable all-gender accessible change rooms. Each room includes a toilet, shower and a basin, with the features listed below.

Room 2

Lockers

Electronic lockers are located in the open hallway. Please see reception to hire a locker.

Are there any other changing rooms?

Yes. There are five all-gender quick change cubicles on the pool deck. These are for changing only. Please be aware that at some times of the day, these change rooms unavailable and are allocated to specific user groups. 

Pools

How can I access the hydro pool?

The hydro pool has ramp access and is wheelchair friendly.

Do you have aquatic wheelchairs?

We have two aquatic wheelchairs available for use. Each chair is rated to 200 kg.

How can I access the 25m pool?

The 25-metre pool has a pool hoist rated to 136 kg. There is no ramp access. Stairs are available.

Gym and fitness

Is the gym accessible for wheelchair users?

Yes. We have two wheelchair-accessible arm ergometers, wide pathways and open training areas.

Can I get help in the gym?

Yes. Our staff are available to provide support and guidance if you need it.

Are there fitness classes suitable for seated or wheelchair use?

Yes. We recommend the Stay Active Strength class. It is suitable for adults of all ages and can be done seated, including from a wheelchair. The class mainly uses hand weights.

Are there quiet times or sensory friendly gym sessions?

We don’t have sensory-friendly sessions running yet. Fewer people attend the gym in the early to mid-afternoon so you may like to visit then if you'd prefer to use the gym in a quieter environment, 

Companions, support workers and allied health

Do companions have to pay entry?

No. Companion card holders are welcome, and one companion receives free entry.

Where can I get a Companion card?

Visit the Companion card website or call 1800 650 611.

Can support workers accompany me?

Yes. Support workers can sign in as companions at reception and will not be charged. They must remain in a supporting role at all times.

Can my companion or support worker do a workout with me?

Companions and support workers must stay in a supporting role. If they use equipment or facilities for their own exercise, they will need to pay the standard casual entry fee.

Can my physiotherapist or allied health professional come with me? Will they have to pay?

Yes, allied health professionals are welcome to attend with their client. They are required to pay the standard casual entry fee for the gym or pool.
