DRRC conditions of entry

All visitors to the Darebin Resource Recovery Centre (DRRC) must comply with the following conditions to ensure the safety, respect, and wellbeing of everyone on site:

General entry

  • Pedestrian access is not permitted - entry is restricted to cars and bicycles only(Bicycles will not be able to proceed past the Gatehouse for safety reasons and are only permitted to attend the Resale Shop area.
  •  All visitors must follow the directions from staff at all times.

Safety and respect

  • Visitors must not engage in any behaviour that causes harm, intimidation, harassment, or makes others feel unsafe.
  •  Abusive, offensive, or discriminatory language or behaviour will not be tolerated. This includes hate speech or discrimination based on race, gender, sexuality, disability, religion, or any other protected attribute.

Prohibited items and substances

  • The use of alcohol, drugs, smoking, or vaping is strictly prohibited on site. 
  •  Visitors under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be asked to leave immediately.

Personal belongings and privacy

  • Visitors are responsible for their personal belongings. The DRRC accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen items.
  •  Unattended belongings will be removed for security reasons.
  • Photography or video recording of staff or visitors is not permitted without prior consent.

Animals

  • Animals are not allowed on site, except for registered assistance animals.
  •  Staff may request proof of accreditation.

Emergencies

  • In the event of an emergency, visitors must follow staff instructions and cooperate fully with evacuation or safety procedures.

Child safety

  • Children under 12 must be actively supervised by a guardian aged 16 or over.
  •  Darebin City Council is a child safe organisation with zero tolerance for child abuse. Staff monitor children and youth areas.
  • Any concerns or suspicions about the safety of a child or young person must be reported immediately to DRRC staff. In an emergency, call Triple Zero (000).

Breaches of conditions

Failure to follow these conditions may result in:

  • Removal from the premises.
  • Bans from entering DRRC spaces and services.
  • Referral to Victoria Police.
