Beyond Age is a creative storytelling and portrait project, celebrating life experience, reflection, and resilience.
In partnership with Seniors Rights Victoria, Darebin City Council ran two workshops on Ageing and Ageism with 27 participants who live, work or play in the City of Darebin. These participants provided a photo of themselves as young adults and took part in a professional photography session at their current age. All participants provided their response to the question "What will you tell your younger self about getting older?"
The photographs and responses of each individual created storyboards of their life and together created the Beyond Age Exhibition.
Join us on Wednesday 9 September 2026 at Northcote Library as we officially launch the Beyond Age Exhibition.
The exhibition launch will be a celebration of older adults within the City of Darebin that challenges ageism and creates a community where everyone can age with dignity and respect.
We will be joined by the Darebin City Council Mayor Cr Emily Dimitriadis and the wonderful participants of the exhibition.

The Beyond Age Exhibition will be available for viewing from 3 - 28 September 2026 at the Northcote Library.
