Wish you could spend more time at Preston Library, or drop in outside standard opening hours? Now you can, with Extra Access.

Extra Access gives approved members an extra 21 hours a week at Preston Library. That’s seven days a week until 10pm – and on public holidays.

Maybe you’re a busy parent, a student, work late hours, or just want a comfy place to hang out. Extra Access gives you more flexibility to use the library when it works for you.

During Extra Access you can:

  • work or study
  • collect reservations and borrow books
  • access FREE Wi-Fi and computers
  • print, copy or scan
  • hang out, play board games, or read newspapers
  • enjoy the heating and cooling.

Accessing Extra Access is simple:

  • Go to Eventbrite to book an induction session.
  • Attend your induction and complete your application.
  • With your upgraded membership*, you can use your library card and smartphone to access the library at a time that suits you. *Conditions apply.

Library staff aren’t available during Extra Access hours. If you need support from a staff member, visit or contact the library during standard opening hours and they’ll be happy to help.
