We have developed a draft Darebin Flag Policy to guide decisions about which flags are flown on council-managed flagpoles at five locations across Darebin.
Flags are powerful symbols that can represent a country, community, or organisation.
Flags can also celebrate festivals and events or highlight things that are important to the local community.
The proposed policy sets out a clear and consistent approach to managing community flagpoles, including the flying of flags for days of observance, community-nominated flags, and international flags.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on the draft policy. To find out more and share your feedback in your preferred language by 5 February 2026, visit: yoursay.darebin.vic.gov.au/FlagPolicy.
