A prominent Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Mural, a new sporting pavilion in Kingsbury and the delivery of almost 300 Darebin Libraries programs are just some of the key projects and programs highlighted in Darebin’s new-look Quarterly Performance Report.

Adopted at the December 2025 Council meeting, the report in its refreshed format is designed to make it easier for the community to see how we’re tracking against Our Darebin Plan actions and what we’ve been working on over the past three months.

Our Darebin Plan maps out what Council will deliver over the next four years, in-line with what the community told us were the priorities for the future in Darebin 2041 Community Vision.

The first quarter of 2025–26 has started strongly, with 84 of our 94 annual actions on track.

Stage 1 of the Wurundjeri Truth Telling project at Bundoora Farm Park has been completed, with the installation of a mural by Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung artist Alex Kerr.

Following on from the Bundoora Homestead Truth-Telling display launched in 2023, this new mural continues to tell the story of the past, present and future Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people and their continuing connection to Country at Bundoora.

“This is all about our strong cultural, spiritual connection to Country and the importance to keep this intact for the future generations coming through,” Alex Kerr said.

Other Q1 highlights include:

  • Through Get Active in Darebin's Winter program, 19 free programs delivered 131 sessions for 1,170 participants to increase opportunities for our community to engage in physical activities.
  • Darebin Libraries delivered 194 children and youth programs to foster literacy and social skills, and 98 adult events including a range of learning programs, social connection programs, author talks, craft, and writing workshops.
  • Our health and wellbeing focus this quarter has included ongoing delivery of the Free From Violence Program, with a deliberate emphasis on building the rights and safety of culturally and racially marginalised communities.
  • Completion of the new KP Hardiman Reserve Pavilion in Kingsbury, which supports greater sports participation for all, especially women and girls.

For the first time, the report includes a Service Performance Snapshot, which gives a simple overview of eight key service areas.

In the past three months, we’ve administered 4,983 vaccinations, welcomed 1,196 community members to intercultural programs and events, loaned 293,341 library items, processed 200 planning permit applications, and booked 8,369 hard rubbish collections.
