We are a finalist for the Healthy and Fair Society: Community Champion award the Premier's Sustainability Awards for the Darebin Loves Bikes program.

Darebin Loves Bikes is building an inclusive, vibrant culture of bike riding in Darebin by providing free monthly bike checks, low-cost bike skills workshops, personalised journey planning advice and the popular Darebin Loves Bikes e-newsletter which gives people the support, resources, skills, and experience they need to ride a bike.

A big thank you to the Department of Transport and Planning who co-fund our Free Monthly Bike Checks and Ready to Roll bike skills workshops for year 7s through the VicRoads Community Road Safety Grants program.

And of course, we wouldn’t be able to run our programs without the help of our wonderful partners, WeCycle, Dr Cranky’s, Bike it Better, Darebin BUG (Bicycle User Group), Preston Cycling Club, La Trobe University and Banyule City Council.

We’re thrilled to be named as finalist alongside so many Victorian changemakers who are leading the way towards a more sustainable future – especially on the 21st anniversary of the awards.
