Proposed sale of land from a discontinued road adjoining 11 Charles St

The Darebin City Council, acting under section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020, proposes to sell the land from the discontinued road adjoining 11 Charles Street and 10a Grampian Street, Preston, shown hatched on the plan below. The land is known as Lot 14 Title Plan 10941.

It is Council’s intention to sell the land from the former road to the owner of the adjoining property at 11 Charles Street, Preston, by private treaty in accordance with Council Policy.

As part of its Community Engagement process Council is inviting submissions on this proposal. Any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing to the undersigned by no later than Tuesday 2 June 2026.

All written submissions will be considered in accordance with the principles of section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989 and tabled at the next available Council meeting.

Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to sell the land, part of the land or not to sell the land. Further, Council may also decide to sell the land to another party.

Any person making a written submission is advised that all submissions and personal information in the submission will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.
