Appealing a planning infringement

To appeal a planning infringement notice, you must complete our application for infringement internal review form.

Please ensure you complete all sections of the form, including any documents that support your grounds for review.

There are several ways to submit your form and supporting documents:

  • Online via our eServices portal
  • email: mailbox@darebin.vic.gov.au
  • mail: PO Box 91, Preston, VIC 3072
  • in person: visit our service centre at 274 Gower Street, Preston between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

Once we receive your application for internal review, your infringement goes on hold. This means you won't incur any more costs until after we advise you of our decision in writing - even if the original due date for payment passes during the review.

The Infringements Act 2006 states that only one review is allowed per infringement.

How long will the review take?

We must make a decision within 90 days, but it usually takes us three to six weeks to process your application.
