Our Darebin – have final say on draft key strategic documents

Our Darebin is about working with you, our community, to shape the next four years and beyond. Our plans provide a roadmap for Darebin’s future, outlining where we aim to be in the coming years and working towards achieving the 2041 Community Vision

From July to December 2024, we heard from over 3500 community members about local priorities, concerns, health and wellbeing. Your input helped us draft some important key strategic documents.

From 14 May to 3 June 2025 you can have your say on the following draft key strategic documents:

  • Our Darebin Plan 2025-29
  • Our Darebin Annual Action Plan 2025-26
  • Our Annual Budget and Financial Outlook 2025-26 to 2028-29
  • Our Revenue and Rating Plan 2025-26 to 2028-29
  • Our Financial Plan 2025-26 to 2034-35
  • Our Capital Works Program 2025-26 to 2034-35
  • Our Asset Plan 2025-56 to 2034-35
  • Our Operating Projects 2025-26.

How to have your say?

Any person wishing to have their say is required to make a submission. The submission must be in writing. It has to be shared with Council no later than 11:59pm Tuesday 3 June 2025.

Submissions must be addressed to Michael Tudball, CEO, Darebin City Council.

They can be provided using one of the following methods:

Online: Council’s Your Say page 
In person: Paper copies, handed in at one of the Customer Service locations at Preston Customer Service, Northcote Customer Service, Reservoir Customer Service (check for service locations)
Email: ourdarebin@darebin.vic.gov.au

Submissions must state why the specific key document is supported or opposed and indicate what changes (if any) are proposed.

Council needs to collect a name and contact details of submitters to consider submissions.

We will handle all personal information in the submission in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.

What happens next?

All submissions will be considered and presented at the Hearing of Submissions Committee meeting on 16 June at 6.00pm.

All submitters are entitled to speak to their submissions or nominate someone else to speak on their behalf.

All speakers will have 2 minutes to speak to submissions.

Following the Hearing of Submission Committee meeting the final drafts of Council's key strategic documents will be tabled at Council meeting on 30 June 2025 for their endorsement.
