Planned Industrial Action: Wednesday 17 June
Published on 16 June 2026
The Australian Services Union (ASU) has notified Darebin City Council and the other seven councils joined in multi-employer bargaining that they plan to take a 24-hour work stoppage (strike) on Wednesday 17 June.
Some council services may be affected by the ASU’s strike.
It’s regrettable that the ASU’s industrial action has affected our communities and customers. We will continue to negotiate in good faith with all unions representing our staff and we thank you for your patience.
We will keep you informed as much as possible.
