When is my bin collection day?

Waste is collected every week. Recycling bins and the food and green waste bins are collected fortnightly, on alternate weeks.

You can find your bin collection days by searching for your full address on our map. Or you can refer to our handy bin collection calendars below.

Please note that collection days can vary on public holidays.

Putting your bin out for collection

To help with collection, please: 

• make sure your bin is out before 5am on collection day  
• place bins on the nature strip with at least 0.5 metres of space between them
• make sure your bin is placed close to the kerb, with the Darebin logo facing the road
• ensure your bin lid is closed, with no waste on or around the bin.

We won't collect your bin if:

• it's too close to obstacles such as trees, poles, other bins or parked cars
• it weighs more than 30 kilograms
• you put it out too late
• it's overfilled
• it has anything on top or leaning against it.
