This project has been driven by consultation with tenant sports clubs and user groups based at the park in partnership with Council, supported financially through a $250,000 grant from the State Government.
Following consultation with tenant sports clubs and user groups, sport and park infrastructure was identified for improvement to enhance player and spectator experience as well as create a more welcoming and engaging open space for our local community to visit and enjoy.
Council will deliver upgrades to the park to meet current sporting requirements and community needs. This will ensure more community members from all ages, genders and backgrounds have access to facilities that enable healthy, social and active lifestyles.
Following consultation and advice from tenant sports clubs, the project will include:
An upgraded forecourt space in front of the sports pavilion to provide a welcoming gathering space for all and encourage play for children.
New bike parking to ensure cyclists can travel and securely park at the reserve.
New noticeboards to inform our community of the latest park news and club information.
Improved pathway and access to the west oval.
New player and spectator seating and shelters providing comfort and protection from the weather.
At the park’s tennis facility, we will upgrade gate access with Tennis Australia’s Book A Court system so our community can easily book, access and play tennis during the day or evening.
