Proposed Review of Darebin's draft Road Management Plan 2025

In accordance with the provisions of the Road Management Act 2004 and the Road Management (General) Regulations 2016, Darebin City Council gives notice of its intention to review its Road Management Plan and invites public submissions on the proposed review. The current Darebin City Council Road Management Plan was adopted on 28 June 2021 and applies to all roads within City of Darebin’s boundaries for which the Council is the Responsible Road Authority, as identified in the Council’s register of public roads.
The purpose of the review is to update the content of the current plan with respect to the requirements of the Road Management Act 2004 including inspection frequencies, response times and intervention levels to reflect current priorities and strategies. The draft of the revised Road Management Plan will be available:
- In person, at one of Darebin’s Customer Service Centres
- by calling Council’s Customer Service Centres (03) 8470 8888 or
- online by viewing the Road Authority’s website via the button below.
Any person who wishes to make a submission to the draft of the reviewed Road Management Plan must address it to:

Submissions must be made in writing and can be logged by 11.59pm either
Paper copies of submissions must follow the format outlined online and can be handed in by 5pm at one of the Darebin’s Customer Service Centres, located at:
- 274 Gower Street, Preston (Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm)
- 32—38 Separation Street, Northcote (Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm)
- 23 Edwardes Street, Reservoir (Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm).
Submissions must be received by 1 October 2025.
Please note submissions will be made available to the public unless a submitter advises Council to the contrary.
Council, in accordance with Section 73 of the Local Government Act 2020, will consider all written submissions received within the prescribed time.
