Cultural Diversity Oration at the IC

Last Wednesday 21 May, World Day for Cultural Diversity, Darebin Intercultural Centre opened its doors for a Cultural Diversity Oration.

Deakin Distinguished Professor and UNESCO Chair Fethi Mansouri spoke, with local comedian Diana Nguyen MC'ing and engaging discussion on interculturalism.

Come along to the Intercultural Centre on World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development on Wednesday 21 May. Other speakers included Uncle John Terrick and Mayor Kristine Olaris, with Auslan interpretation by Auslan StageLeft.
 
Prof. Fethi Mansouri shared his in-depth understandings of cultural diversity and intercultural relations, exploring themes related to social justice and human rights, including the social inclusion of migrants. Attendees learned about Australian multiculturalism and interculturalism, in the context of Darebin's local communities. A lively Q&A session was followed by live music and light snacks.
 
The oration formed part of the IC Nights monthly series.
