The future of your street
The Your Street, Your Say project is all about improving our local streets and neighbourhoods for people who live, work, study, play or travel through Darebin.
Rolled out progressively across Darebin, Your Street, Your Say asks for your thoughts about walking, cycling, scooting, driving and playing in your local area. This helps us identify what’s most needed to improve our streets.
What’s happened so far?
Group B
In 2023 community members provided ideas for the ‘Group B’ areas of Northcote East/Fairfield, Alphington, Thornbury East and Bundoora/Macleod. We received more than 2000 contributions about your experiences of walking, cycling, scooting, driving or playing in your local street. Thank you to everyone who participated!
This information is helping us draft a plan with key improvements to make it safer and easier for people to move around.
The draft plan may include (but is not limited to) new pedestrian crossings, speed limit changes or other place-making ideas.

Consultation for Reservoir West, Preston West, Thornbury West took place in 2021 and 2022. Find out more about what happened in Group A.

What’s next?
In March 2024, we will ask for your feedback on these draft plans for ‘Group B’.
Later in 2024, we will also ask for ideas from people in the ‘Group C’ areas - Northcote West, Preston East, and Reservoir East.
