Youth Jobs PaTH

Youth Jobs PaTH program designed to encourage employers to offer employment pathways to young people. It provides pre-employment training, a paid work experience component and wage subsidies and incentives for hiring young people aged between fifteen and 24 years of age. 

It offers a pathway for young people to enter skills shortage areas of employment whilst providing incentive payments of $200 per fortnight on top of regular income support payment. 

National Work Experience Program

The National Work Experience programme (NWEP) is a work experience program for job seekers aged 17 years or over. It helps job seekers gain experience and confidence, while demonstrating skills to potential employers.

For employers, if you are looking to hire staff you have the ability to trial a participant before committing to placing them into employment

Host businesses are eligible for a one-off, upfront Incentive Payment of $300 (GST inclusive) per placement to assist with hosting costs.

Launch Into Work program 

The Launch into Work program can provide employment pathways for women and men of all ages by delivering pre-employment projects that provide training, work experience and mentoring to support job seekers Projects are co-designed with employers, employment service providers, registered training organisations and other stakeholders to ensure both employer and job seeker needs are met. 

 

Retrenched Apprentices and Trainees Program 

The Retrenched Apprentices and Trainees program is aims to assist apprentices and trainees who have lost their employment complete their training. Once on the register, apprentices and trainees will be assisted by program officers until placed with a host employer through a Group Training Organisation (GTO) or directly with an employer.

Wage subsidies are available for employers.

Reconnect Program 

The Reconnect program provides individual support to plan a return to education, training and employment.  It is available for people between seventeen to 19, twenty to 64 of age or asylum seekers.

Job Trainer 

The Australian Government is providing free or low-fee training courses. The Australian Government has partnered with State Governments to establish the JobTrainer Fund. This is providing up to 340,700 additional training places that are free or low fee, in areas of identified skills needed. 

Digital Jobs Program

Digital Jobs is a six-month program that takes experienced mid-career Victorians and helps them transition into digital careers. Candidates undertake twelve weeks of free digital skills training, before being placed in a digital job for twelve weeks. Victorian businesses are invited to host candidates through an internship arrangement. Participating businesses will also gain access to the broader talent pool to find new recruits for digital jobs.
