Submissions are now open for Darebin's new literary program.

Darebin writers aged 12 years and older are invited to submit new works for the Darebin Mayor’s Creative Writing Program.

The Darebin Mayor’s Creative Writing Program is Darebin’s new literary program offering writers the opportunity to apply for the chance to win cash prize at the Darebin Mayor’s Writing Awards, and be published in the annual local publication D’Scribe (formerly known as n-SCRIBE) in one easy to manage process.

Writers who live, work or study in Darebin are encouraged to submit new works of up to 500 words (writers aged 12-17) or 750 words (writers aged 18+) of any genre, including fiction, non-fiction, short story or poetry, around the theme ‘Transformation’.

All submissions will be entered into the Darebin Mayor’s Writing Award and a shortlist will be published in the 2023 D’Scribe.

Submissions open 9am on Wednesday 3 May and close 11.59pm on Friday 2 June.
