Council operates various halls and centres, providing community with the opportunity to hire Council facilities for activities, gatherings and events

We have many community centres and council halls for hire within Darebin.

Booking a venue

Once you have looked at the venues available for hire, submit a venue hire enquiry form via the link below. You will need to provide information regarding the number of people the venue will need to accommodate, your dates, a brief description of the event and a list of your 3 preferred venues

Community centres

We have a variety of centres across Darebin providing services to improve the well-being of the community. They offer support to families with children, health and social programs and have spaces available for hire for your next community event or meeting.

Darebin North East Community Hub

Darebin North East Community Hub is a newly refurbished community centre located in Bundoora. In addition to our services listed below we are also currently home to 3KnD, Melbourne’s only Indigenous radio station.

East Preston Community Centre

East Preston Community Centre provides a range of programs and services to improve the health and wellbeing outcomes of the community.

GE Robinson Pavilion

The refurbished GE Robinson Tennis Pavilion is home to the Regent Tennis Club and is situated within the GE Robinson Reserve, Reservoir. The social room is a community space within the pavilion that is available for hire by the community.

Keon Park Children's Hub

Keon Park Children’s Hub is a community centre, located in northern Reservoir. The hub provides a range of family and community services as listed below and has multi-purpose spaces available for hire.

Reservoir Community and Learning Centre

Reservoir Community and Learning Centre is a welcoming and vibrant community hub in the heart of Edwardes Street, Reservoir. The hub is home to Reservoir Library and Decibels Recording Studio in addition to providing a range of health, family and community services.

Council halls

Find a hall for your next event, whether it's for a social club, art exhibition, dance class or a wedding.

Our halls vary in capacity between 40—600 people and are suitable for a range of activities such as meetings, exercise classes, social clubs, dance classes, community events, culturally and linguistic diverse events, art exhibitions, weddings and concerts.

Preston City Hall

Preston City Hall hosts an impressive stage, public address system, commercial sized kitchen and a large wooden dance floor.

Preston Shire Hall

The Shire Hall hosts 200 people comfortably with fantastic facilities.

Clyde Street Community Hall

Clyde Street Community Hall is a lovely indoor and outdoor spaces available for hire in Thornbury. Only venue available for primary school aged functions for children 5—12 years old.

Donald Street Community Hall

Donald Street Community Hall is an inviting space available for hire in Preston. This hall has an indoor area suitable for meetings, social clubs, indoor health and well-being activities or dance classes.

Fairfield Community Room

The Fairfield Community Room is a light and open space available for hire in Fairfield. The room is ideal for yoga and other indoor health and well-being activities, meetings, focus groups and small dance groups.

Ruthven Community Room

The Ruthven Community Room is a brand new bright and open space available for hire in Preston. The room is perfect for meetings, information or training sessions and indoor health and well-being activities.

Browse through the venues and halls on this page, then use our online booking form to enquire about a venue, based on the number of people the venue will need to accommodate, your preferred dates and the type of event. You can enquire about up to three venues.

Privacy and collection of information

Darebin City Council (“Council”) collects, holds and manages personal information under the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) (“PDP Act”).

Your personal details are collected so that Council can provide you with services regarding the hire of council owned and operated venues. These details may be used to contact you regarding your booking enquiry and to provide information and documentation to assist with bookings for these venues. In cases where you choose to book our venues, your contact details may also be used for the purpose of creating and sending invoices.

We may share this information in the following cases:

Council may share information with state and federal taxation authorities in order to comply with their lawful requests
Council may provide personal information to its agents, such as its accountants or lawyers
At times, Council may be legally required to disclose personal information, for instance to the police or courts

If you choose not to provide all of this personal information, Council may not be able to provide the full range of venue hire services you are requesting.
